TechRound has announced the winners of its first-ever PR54 competition, recognizing the top public relations agencies shaping the tech industry. The list highlights agencies that demonstrated creativity, measurable results, and a commitment to meaningful impact beyond traditional metrics.

The competition, launched this year, drew entries from agencies across the UK and beyond. Judges evaluated submissions based on campaign outcomes, strategic thinking, and how well agencies tied their work to broader business goals—such as fundraising, acquisitions, or AI visibility.

Megan Dennison, Associate Director at Firefly Communications, noted that resilience and pro bono efforts stood out among competitors. Many agencies had rebuilt their businesses after setbacks or launched during the pandemic. She also praised campaigns that went beyond standard PR tactics, such as Don’t Be A Little Pitch’s branding and Babel’s “We Back Your Brave” initiative, which emphasized support for underrepresented founders.

Danny Sullivan, CEO of Nomada Digital, highlighted how the strongest entries focused on tangible results rather than vague claims. Agencies that set clear targets, such as securing funding rounds or improving AI search rankings, performed best. He criticized entries that listed activities without demonstrating outcomes, stressing that reach figures alone don’t prove success. The most effective campaigns showed how earned media influenced pipeline growth, sponsorship revenue, or even AI citations.

Some agencies turned survey data into recurring news stories, while others measured how media coverage directly affected client acquisitions. Sullivan also observed a shift in how agencies track impact, moving beyond traditional clippings to metrics like SEO performance and geographic expansion.

Where entries struggled, it was often because they described what an agency did rather than what it achieved. The top performers let their results speak for themselves, pairing creativity with hard data. For example, agencies that connected client stories to larger industry trends, such as AI adoption or funding shifts, stood out.

Micayla de Fleuriot, Marketing and Partnerships Manager at TechRound, echoed these points, calling out agencies like Hendrix Rose PR, Bound to Prosper, Fungi PR, and Lem-uhn for blending strategic depth with human-driven storytelling. She noted that the best submissions combined measurable outcomes with innovation, particularly in areas like AI visibility and inclusive PR practices.
